Biography

Lori Gonko has worked in community colleges since 2000. Her career began in what she calls an “unexpected” manner when she was a student at Macomb Community College in need of a summer job. A part-time clerical job turned into more than a decade of various positions and experiences at MCC, including supervisory positions and Manager of Career and Technical Education. Lori moved to Henry Ford College in 2012, where she supports college-wide program review efforts, coordinates strategic and operational planning, and oversees Perkins processes for Career and Technical Education programs.

Dr. Gonko has both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in English from Oakland University, and she is a graduate of the second cohort of the Ferris DCCL program. Her dissertation focused on the role of community college support staff in student success initiatives and support staff professional development.
