Scholarship Universe is a personalized matching system, designed for new and continuing
Ferris State University students. The link below will take students to their Scholarship
Universe Dashboard. From there, students may answer questions about themselves based
on their characteristics, interests, circumstances, activities, and more. Students
will be presented with scholarship matches based on their answers to these questions.
They can then apply to their Ferris scholarship matches in their Scholarship Universe
account. Any external scholarship opportunities will link them to the external site
where they can access the application.
The 26 - 27 application window will open December 22, 2025. Last day to apply for
donor scholarships is February 28th, 2026 at 11:59pm EST.
*Pro Tip: Keep checking back in ScholarshipUniverse and completing any outstanding
questions. Many scholarships ask for additional details, and providing this information
ensures you’re matched to every opportunity you’re eligible for.
Public Listing
The Scholarship Universe Public Listing allows students, parents and others, to view
a comprehensive list of Ferris State Scholarships, even when the application period
is inactive. When students view the Public Listing, only scholarships that reflect
an application date will require additional action.
Log into SU more than once. Log-in in December, January, and February- more than once.
New questions will appear later on in the year when new data has been entered into
the system. The more questions you answer, the more scholarships you will match to.
For example, even though you may have submitted your FAFSA earlier this fall, your
FAFSA data doesn’t get entered into the system until mid- January. If financial need
is a requirement for a scholarship, you won’t get matched to that scholarship until
the system can see your FAFSA.
The listed scholarship amounts are estimates that are subject to change. You are advised
to overlook the dollar amounts in your application process.
We begin select recipients for scholarships as early as March, and will continue to
award scholarships throughout the spring and summer months. If you are selected to
receive a scholarship, the system will send you an email notification. This email
will appear to be from a sender outside of the University. Open it! Inside, you will
receive instructions for accepting your award and completing your thank you requirement.
It’s important that you complete this step of the process within the timeframe provided
in the email. Otherwise, your scholarship may be awarded to another student!
A FAFSA is required to determine eligibility for "need-based" scholarships. If you
are eligible to file a FAFSA, but choose not to do so, you will greatly reduce the
number of scholarship opportunities that you are considered for.
You will see a Campus Logic privacy policy screen.
Click "I Accept" on this page.
Next you will add in your number on the Scholarship Universe page and select "I'm
Ready".
Start answering questions to begin matching to scholarship opportunities. In the upper
right-hand corner, you will see a red box that indicates "Matches".
These are the scholarships that you meet the criteria for.
Click on each of those scholarships to complete the applications for them. These are
external scholarships, so you will be leaving the Scholarship Universe portal to apply
for these opportunities.
Good luck on your search!
Yes! Scholarship Universe is fully mobile-friendly, allowing you to access the platform
conveniently from your phone or tablet. You can answer questions, browse opportunities,
and match with scholarships, making the process of earning scholarships more accessible
and convenient than ever before. Whether you're on the go or relaxing at home, Scholarship
Universe is designed to provide a seamless experience across various devices.
An external scholarship is a non-Ferris scholarship offered by organizations, foundations,
or businesses outside of the university. These opportunities are not directly funded
by Ferris State University but are excellent avenues for additional financial support.
Applying for external scholarships is easy! Log in to your Scholarship Universe portal
and begin answering matching questions as prompted when you login in. The more questions
you answer, the more the system can match you to the best scholarships for you to
apply for. Browse available opportunities, select the ones that match your interests
and qualifications, and follow the application instructions provided by each scholarship.
Applying for external scholarships is a fantastic way to explore the new Scholarship
Universe system while increasing your chances of securing additional financial aid.
These scholarships, not limited to Ferris State, offer diverse opportunities, and
can complement other forms of financial assistance.
Ferris State scholarships are specifically created for our students by donors who
have invested in supporting your education. External scholarships come from outside
organizations and have varied eligibility criteria and application processes.
Scholarship Universe will be open from December 22, 2025 through February 28, 2026
to apply for scholarships for 2026-27.
Stay informed through campus communications! Ferris 360 emails and social media accounts
will be regularly updated with announcements and important dates related to Ferris
State scholarships. Always check your Ferris email for the latest information and
notifications about scholarship opportunities.
As a "matching" system, Scholarship Universe is working behind the scenes to match
you with scholarship opportunities that you are eligible for, based on information
we already know about you, such as your cumulative GPA, your program, your college,
etc. Because no additional information is needed from you, you won't see anything
for the majority of these scholarship opportunities. The only donor scholarships you
will see are those that require additional information from you - such as questions
about your leadership experience, participation in RSOs or professional organizations,
or those that require essays or letters of reference. You are encouraged to answer
as many "matching questions" as you can, to ensure that you are being considered for
as many scholarship opportunities as possible.
Once the application period for 2026-27 scholarships closes on February 28, 2026,
scholarship selection committees across campus will begin their work. Most scholarship
notifications will take place from early May through early July.
Every student that is awarded a scholarship through Scholarship Universe will receive
an email notification advising them of the name of the scholarship and the amount
of the award. You will be required to acknowledge acceptance of the scholarship in
Scholarship Universe and you will be required to submit a thank you or statement of
gratitude for the award. Shortly after you have completed these two steps, the scholarship
will be added to your financial aid award for 2025-26.
If you experience a bad external scholarship, please click on the "Feedback" icon
on the left-hand menu in ScholarshipUniverse. You will be prompted to select a reason
for your feedback, select "bad scholarship alert". Type in the name of the scholarship
that had the bad link.
