Tuition Incentive Program (TIP)

TIP Phase I 

Students that are eligible for TIP (Tuition Incentive Program) Phase I benefits are required to complete all of the steps below, as soon as possible, to receive TIP funding at Ferris State University. 

Step One: Apply for admission and be accepted into an Associate's degree program at Ferris State University or Kendall College of Art & Design.

Step Two: Create an online account via the Michigan Student Scholarships and Grants MiSSG portal to complete the application process for the Tuition Incentive Program and indicate Ferris State University as their college of choice or you may call MiSSG at (888) 447-2687.

Step Three: Student must file a FAFSA for the academic year they are admitted for  and submit any additional financial aid requirements as requested. Admitted students should check for missing requirements regularly.

Additional information

  • To receive Tip Phase I benefits, qualified students must be enrolled in an associate’s degree program and take classes that count toward the completion of that degree.
  • Eligible students must begin to use TIP funding within four years following high school graduation or GED completion.

TIP Phase II

TIP Phase II will provide a maximum of $2,000 in tuition benefits for credits earned in a bachelor’s degree (benefits cannot exceed $500 a semester and is tuition specific). These benefits must be used within 30 months of completion of Phase I.
