10 Improve deskside support. Hire 4 PT staff in TAC (3 years). 100 In FY14, the staffing plan was modified from four PT temp desktop support technicians to two FT temporary and two PT temporary technicians. You can read the complete strategy here.
11 Formalize TAC 24x7 services (external) 100 IT Services entered into an agreement with a vendor to provide evening, weekend and holiday telephone support for students, faculty, and staff.
12 IT Network infrastructure: ongoing updates 70 Network equipment upgrades were completed in MCO, Granger, and Heavy Equipment as well as the West Campus Apartment residences (Robin, Cardinal, and Finch Courts). Network Core equipment upgrades for West, Allied Health, Arts/Science Commons and FLITE are currently scheduled for mid/late October. This project is 70% complete.
13 Upgrade wireless networks in academic buildings 90 Wireless network equipment upgrades were completed for MCO, Automotive, Heavy Equipment, Granger, Bishop Hall, Alumni Building, South Commons, Corporate & Professional Development Center, Copy Center, General Services Building & Annex, Racquet Facility and Fitness Center, Power Plant, Center for Student Services, McKessy House, West Campus Community Center. Residential buildings Hallisy Hall, Bond Hall, Vandercook Hall, Clark Hall, and West Campus Apartments were also upgraded. Wireless upgrades in Granger are 90% complete, Wireless upgrades in MCO are underway and Heavy equipment will be upgraded over Christmas Break.
17 University Web Server 45 Decision made to separate the MyFSU and the webserver projects. Webserver will be split into four servers. Production and test for Omni only and a production and test servers for all other small web applications. Test server have been provisioned.
19 Increase use of student employees (10) 100 All students have been hired and are deployed to customer support locations per our Academic alignment strategy. You can read the complete strategy here.
27 PC Replacement 100 For the second year, the new team approach for completing PCR was used for both rounds. The first round for all non-academic divisions completed 99 new installs during the summer. The second round with 254 new computers in academic areas were completed by December 2014.
