Pat on the Back Awards September 2008

Congratulations to —

I want to nominate orientation student helper, Kelli Forrest, for a well-deserved Pat-on-the-Back. During orientation, a new student lost her cell phone. Kelli went from building to building and room to room from Timme to the College of Business and IRC, to Rankin Center and finally back to Granger, retracing the student's footsteps. She also checked each building's lost & found. Kelli didn't find it, but the student did later in a chair in the IRC connector. Kelli went above and beyond what someone else might have done. We are lucky to have such a conscientious student. Thank you, Kelli!

I would like to nominate student workers, Melanie Kimpton and Jacqueline Edwards, for the Pat-on-the-Back award. They work tirelessly for the College of Business. They are part of the backbone of our office, and they work diligently, so our office and especially the orientation/registration process runs smoothly. Great job ladies!

I would like to extend my gratitude to Jennifer Thede for her exceptional support and assistance for CPTS-GR and the College of Pharmacy off site. Jennifer goes far and beyond to help with software related questions. She always finds an answer no matter what challenges come her way. Jennifer is an extraordinary employee, and I am honored to work with her.

I'd like to nominate Faye Young of Res. Life Custodial for a Pat on the Back. Recently Faye organized (with the help of many others I'm sure) a short notice benefit hot dog lunch for one of the Ferris Grounds Crew workers who had spent time at Mayo Clinic. In just a few days, pop, chips, hot dogs and buns were bought, and several people brought in salads & desserts for the fundraiser. In addition, tickets were sold for a chance to win a "goody basket". Although several people helped and contributed, I am told Faye was the driving force and as a result, several hundred dollars were raised in a short time to help out a friend and co-worker in need. Way to go Faye!

Beth Pacholka, Part-time Customer Service Representative for Dining Services, deserves a double Pat-on-the-Back Award! Beth is so dedicated and goes out of her way to help each person that comes to or calls her desk. During this busy check in time Beth has helped so many students and promised every parent she is here for their child if needed, she is sincere. Beth does not have the word "no" in her vocabulary, if she doesn't know how to or the answer, she manages to find out how or a way to get the job done. She remains positive and always has time for others. Just stop by RAN 145 to see for yourself how great a person she is! We love her!!!

I would like to Thank Jeannette Seither, Sandra Holley and Kimberly Walters for the great work they did in my building, the team work and did what ever was asked of them.
