Perhaps no other moment defines Ferris State Hockey’s prominence more than the one that occurred this past summer. In early June, one of professional hockey’s “Original Six” franchises, the home-state Detroit Red Wings, tabbed former Ferris State goaltender and assistant coach Jeff Blashill (B '98) as the team’s new head coach, and he landed in Hockeytown.

Roderick "Rick" Janich (EHS '81) has spent his career with the Dallas Police, one of the largest and most-recognized departments in the United States. He now serves as the official historian and curator of the new Dallas Police Department Museum, including its investigation into one of the most infamous days in U.S. history: the assassination of President John F. Kennedy on the streets of Dallas on Nov. 22, 1963.
