The ability to communicate in more than one language is not only practical, but necessary in modern society. With the rise of globalization, we live in an increasingly international and multicultural world. To secure our place in the future, we must learn to communicate in other languages and understand other cultures.

There is a wide variety of language courses available to students from every discipline on campus. With some of the University’s most experienced and dedicated faculty members, we are proud to offer programs in French and Spanish, as well as special offerings in Italian and Russian. Our department also offers exciting study abroad and travel opportunities every year.
