The Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science at Ferris State University is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the scientific principles underlying human movement, physical activity, and exercise. Students in this program will learn the fundamentals of exercise testing and prescription for healthy and clinical populations. This program prepares students for careers in health and fitness, corporate wellness, sports performance, and related fields. This degree is also useful for those seeking graduate degrees in health care such as Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, and Physician’s Assistant programs. The program aligns course content with guidelines and standards that prepare students for professional certification through the American College of Sports Medicine and/or the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Through a combination of rigorous coursework, practical experiences, and internship opportunities, students develop the knowledge and skills necessary to promote health, fitness, and performance across diverse populations.
