Long Term Care Certificate

1. All applicants for MI NHA licensure shall have earned a degree. Either of the following satisfy this requirement: a) IF the applicant holds a valid, active license as a registered nurse, an associate's degree or higher in nursing, or b) a bachelor's degree. 
2. An applicant for licensure in MI needs to complete an approved course of instruction in nursing home administration. This program, Nursing Home Administration, is an approved course of instruction.

You are welcome to participate in this program regardless of whether you meet the State of Michigan’s degree requirement. We understand that individuals enroll for a variety of reasons, and not all participants are pursuing licensure.

If you do not meet the degree requirement but have completed or will complete this program before April 2026, you are eligible to complete the NAB exams and MI licensing process before the new requirements take effect.
