Scholarships for Social Work Students

Karen D. Boochard Social Work Scholarship

Requirements

  • Full-time student in Social Work
  • 2.0 GPA minimum
  • Graduated from the Big Rapids, Evart, Reed City, Charter Crossroads Academy, Chippewa Hills, or Morley/Standwood school districts or Mecosta-Osceola Intermediate School District

Paul Winfred Owens Memorial Scholarship

Requirements

  • Full or part-time undergraduate student majoring in Social Work
  • 2.75 GPA minimum
  • Preference given to applicants from a public school in the Grand Rapids, Flint, or Detroit school districts.

Rex Dew Memorial Textbook Scholarship

Requirements

  • Enrolled in the BSW Social Work Program
  • Demonstrated financial need
  • Recommendation from a Social Work faculty member
  • Past or present involvement in extracurricular or voluntary activities is desirable

Samuels Family Annual Scholarship

Requirements

  • Full-time undergraduate senior student majoring in Social Work
  • 3.0 GPA minimum

Smith, Taylor, Malloy Endowed Scholarship

Requirements

  • Full-time undergraduate student entering their senior year in the Social Work program
  • 2.70 GPA minimum
  • Recipient should be student with greatest need as determined by the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid
