Lambda Pi Eta Communication Honor Society

Lambda Pi Eta communication honor society is the official undergraduate honor society of the National Communication Association and a member of the American Association of Honor Societies. Students are invited to membership when they meet the following criteria:

  • Junior status (56 earned credit hours)
  • 3.00 overall GPA
  • 12 earned credit hours in Communication courses
  • 3.25 GPA in Communication courses

The chapter was chartered in 1996. It honors the memory of Karen A. Paquette, who was president in the chapter's second year before her untimely death due to brain cancer.

Our chapter is a Registered Student Organization (RSO) with an average annual membership of 15 to 20 students. We hold induction ceremonies each semester, sponsor bottle and can recycling in Johnson Hall and co-sponsor the fall Campus-Wide Public Speaking Contest with Pi Kappa Delta, the national forensics honorary. We also provide service to the Communication faculty.
