The Ferris Communication Association is a pre-professional RSO open to any student of any major with an interest in honing their professional communication skills.
Founded at Ferris in 1988, FCA is also a founding member of the National Communication Association Student Clubs and was ranked as one of the top three of twenty-plus national chapters for 2007. FCA members are official members of NCA student clubs.
FCA runs the spring campus-wide speech contest every April and sponsors student research and trips to major communication conferences in cities like New York, Chicago, Seattle and Minneapolis. FCA students also participate in a variety of community-service and fundraising activities such as Walk for Warmth, WISE women's shelter, Project Starburst and Toys for Tots. FCA also sponsors guest speakers on both business communication and contemporary issues. Trips to communication-related job fairs are also a part of our activities. Communication majors and minors are particularly urged to join.
