The Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008, which went into effect on July 1, 2010, required schools that elect to publish a Private Lender List to report information regarding that list to the Department of Education on a regular basis. The HEOA provision indicated that the details of information to be reported would be determined and released at a later time. To date, the Department of Education has not released any guidance relative to reporting requirements under this provision.
