FSU Online Bookstore Charges

The FSU Online Bookstore, powered by TextbookX in partnership with Akademos, operates completely online. Students who have registered for semester courses and DO NOT HAVE A PREVIOUS BALANCE OWED for bookstore charges are eligible to charge up to $500.00 in books and necessary supplies from Akademos to your student account during the appropriate dates. This is an optional way to have your books and supplies charged to your consolidated student billing account, and it gives you the flexibility to have your financial aid pay for your books and supplies or to add these charges into your payment plan. In addition to the $500 eligible students are able to charge through the Akademos Student Account Charge program, an additional $150 may be charged to your student account at the Ferris Outfitters campus store. Any bookstore charge balance must be paid by the end of the semester to charge again the next semester.

To use your Akademos Student Account Charge as a payment method, go to your bookstore website https://ferris.edu/books and add all the items you need to your shopping cart. If your order total is more than your available charge limit, you will need to add an additional payment method at the final stage of the checkout process, such as a credit card, to complete your order. Following are the scheduled dates that the Akademos Student Account Charge option is available:

Third Party Bookstore Charges

Students who have a third party paying for books and/or supplies may charge to their student account through Akademos. Once your third party authorization has been received and processed by Student Financial Services, you will be able to view your charge limit in Akademos and use it as a payment method. The amount you purchase will be placed as a charge on your student account and will then be billed to your third party.
