Biography

With more than 25 years of experience in the construction industry Mark is a professor, consultant, speaker, therapist, and business owner. As a professor at Ferris State University, in the Construction Technology and Management Program, he is teaching and training the next generation of construction professionals. As owner and therapist of Collaborative Counseling Group he provides training, consulting, and presentations on the topic of mental health safety. He brings a unique perspective to mental health safety in construction as an experienced construction professional and licensed mental health therapist. He may very well be the only person in the country with this unique blend of experience and training. He has taken his passion for helping others along with his experience in the construction industry and combined them to address the issue of mental health safety in construction. His goal is to help change the lives of those working to build our communities and he does this through training, speaking, and advocating for mental health safety on topics such as suicide awareness and prevention, conflict resolution, stress and burnout, communication skills, and more.
