The Electrical Power Generation Certificate at Ferris State University introduces students to the function, operation, adjustment, and troubleshooting of alternating current electrical power generation systems used in on-site or distributed power applications. Students examine practical generator switchgear, auxiliary power components, and control systems, gaining hands-on experience relevant to a range of industries including telecommunications, health care, municipal services, entertainment, information technology, and residential support. This certificate is particularly well suited for students and professionals in automotive, heavy equipment, construction, technology, business, and communications fields who seek to expand their applied technical competencies.
