Reasonable Accommodations

When disability related barriers are present, DARC is here to partner with you to determine reasonable accommodations to ensure access. These accommodations will not fundamentally alter the course or program. Accommodations may be need in the following environments: classroom, testing, campus housing, internships, clinical/fieldwork placements, and any other environments that are required for your degree.

How to Receive Accommodations at Ferris

In order to receive accommodations for a disability, you need to register with DARC. Here is how:

  1. Fill out the Online Intake  and schedule an appointment  with a DARC counselor. At this appointment, you and your counselor will discuss disability barriers and determine access solutions.
  2. Submit documentation  from a qualified provider that supports your requests for accommodations. This may be provided before, during, or after your initial appointment.
  3. Once your counselor has met with you and reviewed any relevant documentation, your counselor will notify you if your accommodations have been approved.
  4. Self-register each semester in DARC portal.

If you need any assistance, during this process please contact DARC at (231) 591-3057 or [email protected].
