Spanish Minor

 Minor

 Locations:

The Spanish Minor allows students to develop proficiency in both written and spoken Spanish while exploring the diverse cultures of Spain, Mexico, and Latin America. Through coursework and optional summer study-abroad programs (offered when there is sufficient demand), students gain language fluency and cross-cultural understanding that enhance both personal and professional growth.

In an increasingly globalized world—and especially across the United States—Spanish proficiency provides a distinct advantage in many professions. This minor strengthens communication, interpretive, and critical thinking skills, preparing students for careers that value cultural awareness and bilingual ability.

At Ferris State University, majors such as International Business, Hospitality Management, Criminal Justice, Social Work, Plastics Engineering, Education, Public Relations, Public Administration, Health Professions, HVAC, and Building Trades pair especially well with a Spanish Minor, broadening career opportunities and intercultural competence.
