Records Management

records center boxWhat is a record and why should I care?

As a quasi-governmental agency, everything Ferris State University creates, whether physical or electronic, is considered a record and must be retained for a length that meets Ferris State University policy, accreditation standards, department operations, and state and federal laws and regulations.

What can the archives do?

Transfer historical records about university activities to the archives. The University Archives and Records Management Program (UARMP ) also coordinates records destruction. They provide records storage.

For more information please review our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ).  Link to Schedules to review requirements for your specific area.  Link to Forms to complete transfer memos and certificates of destruction. (make these live links)
