Applying to the Doctor of Nursing Practice program is simple. You will submit your
application via NursingCAS, a centralized system for applicants to nursing programs.
You will need to submit the following with your application.
Proof of licensure as a Registered Nurse
Official transcripts from an accredited Master's of Nursing program
A professional resume for curriculum vitae (CV)
Three letters of professional reference
One writing sample demonstrating knowledge of APA style
You should also be prepared to complete a brief phone interview with a DNP program
faculty member.

Admission Requirements
New Student Admission Requirements
Applicants must submit their application for the program by August 15th.
Applicants must hold a Master’s Degree in Nursing, Advanced Practice Master of Science
in Nursing (MSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with specialty, from an accredited
college or university.
Applicants must have a graduate GPA of 3.20 or higher (on a 4.00 scale).
International applicants must have a Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL);
per graduate office minimal requirements.
Applicants must submit an example of writing that is in APA style format.
Applicants must submit three professional references as letters of recommendation
from individuals familiar with the applicant’s academic or professional background.
The letters should include an assessment of the applicant’s current work quality and
ability to successfully complete graduate education.
Applicants must submit a current professional resume and cover letter.
Applicants must have successful, passing grade, completion of a graduate level statistics
course in the last five years.
Applicants must complete a face-to-face, phone, or online interview with program faculty.
Applicants must have satisfactory professional demeanor and be able to articulate
professional goals alignment with the Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) program.
In addition to the above requirements, the student with a GPA of less than 3.20 (on
a 4.00 scale), undergraduate deficiencies, graduate level statistics deficiency, or
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) scores less than required by the graduate
office may be conditionally admitted with the following requirements:
Successfully complete 7 semester hours of graduate coursework with a 3.20 GPA (on
a 4.00 scale) to satisfy admission requirements.
Completion of a graduate level statistics course, with a passing grade, by the end
of the first semester.
Enroll in and successfully complete recommended English as a Foreign Language (EFL)
courses; may retake the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) exam
