Make a Difference
The Master's of Social Work (MSW) program will prepare you for clinical social work practice, where you can make a real difference in the lives of individuals, families, and your community. In our program, you will develop skills and experience in different forms of evidence based practices.
As a part of the MSW program, you can choose to complete field practice in a wide variety of sites, including schools, hospitals, behavioral health agencies, child welfare agencies and substances abuse agencies. Classes are small, taught by highly experienced clinical and research practitioners. The program infuses trauma informed practice across the curriculum, preparing students for the newest advances in clinical practice.
As a graduate of the MSW program, you will be ready to make a real difference.
Meet an Expert
Fully Online Option
If you chose the online option for classes, that means none of your classes will be face-to-face. Your classes will be one of the following formats:
- Meet each week at a set time over Zoom
- A virtual-hybrid experience with a mixture of Zoom sessions and work done on your own time
- No set class sessions but assigned work you do on your own time
As an online student, you will be required to complete a face-to-face field placement.
School Social Worker Track
School social workers play an important role in the success of our children and our communities. If you're ready to make this critical impact, consider completing our school social worker track. By completing one extra class (Intro to School Social Work), a second clinical class, and interning in a school setting, you will be prepared to work in schools as a fully approved Michigan Department of Education School Social Worker.
