Alumna and Emeriti Faculty Member Honored by American Dental Hygienists’ Association

A Ferris State University alumna and emeriti faculty member recently earned the American Dental Hygienists’ Association and Johnson & Johnson Consumer, Inc. Award for Excellence in Dental Hygiene.

Linda Meeuwenberg accepted the honor at the recent ADHA President’s Dinner during the association’s 2019 conference in Louisville, Kentucky. She had also received the Hygiene Hero Award from the ADHA in 2009.

Meeuwenberg earned her Associate of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene from Ferris’ College of Health Professions in 1968, followed by her Bachelor of Science in Allied Health Education in 1978. She followed her career as a hygienist and member of the Ferris Dental Hygiene faculty by founding a consulting firm, Professional Development Association, Inc. Meeuwenberg also serves as an opinion leader for major companies in the dental industry, such as Colgate and Crest Oral-B.

In 2018, Meeuwenberg was selected as a Distinguished Alumni by the Ferris Alumni Association and recognized as a Golden Eagle at their annual Fall Reunion.
