Since his graduation from Ferris State University, Steven London has served the Bekum America Corporation in Williamston, Mich. for nearly 30 years. Starting as an electrical engineer, his top performance and leadership skills have advanced him to his present position as executive vice president and chief operating officer with Bekum America. During his career, London continued his education, completing an MBA in Manufacturing and Marketing from University of Michigan–Flint.
London is a distinguished member of several professional organizations, including the National Board of Directors and Equipment Council Executive Committee of the Society of the Plastics Industry, the Board of Directors for the Mid-Michigan Travel Coalition, and the Society of Plastic Engineers. He also has served as a guest speaker at several of SPE’s Annual Technical and Regional Technical Conferences.
London has received extensive professional recognition for his hard work and dedication. In 2012, he was awarded the Regional Growth Award from the Lansing Regional Chamber for Bekum America’s contributions to the Economic Growth of the greater Lansing region, as well as honors from the Plastics Industry Trade Association for his significant contributions to the National Plastics Expo of 2012. On behalf of Bekum America, London participated in hosting the Counsul of Mexico (Detroit) in 2012 and 2013. He also participates in the annual selection and presentation for a Bekum America-sponsored scholarship to a senior graduating from the local Williamston High School and pursuing a career in the engineering field.
Since his graduation, London has continued his dedication to Ferris. He has served as a member of the Technical Advisory Staff for Electrical Engineering at Ferris and worked extensively to provide Ferris with the consignment of a continuous extrusion blow-molding machine for the university’s National Elastomer Center.
