The Associate of Applied Science in Welding Technology focuses on hands-on laboratory experience in welding processes, metallurgy, mechanical testing, inspection, and fabrication of weldments. In addition to core Welding Technology classes, courses in material science, electronics, and machine tool disciplines are required and are taught by faculty specialists in those departments.
Graduates of the program become technicians involved in testing and improving welding processes, procedures, and equipment. Welding Technology graduates hold job titles as welding technicians, welding supervisors, inspectors, and sales representatives. Also, the associate degree prepares students for admission into the Bachelor of Science in Welding Engineering Technology.
The Welding Technology program is housed in the newly renovated state-of-the-art Swan Building facility with the latest industry equipment technology.
