The 20th Secondary Welding Competition is over.

The 2025 State Secondary Welding Competition is scheduled for May 9, 2025.

We hope you will continue to support our efforts!

Your monetary donation will help support our State Secondary Welding Competition here at Ferris State University. All donations go directly for purchasing gifts/prizes and other supplies for the students and instructors who participate in this year’s event. Your financial contribution is tax deductible and you will receive recognition for your gift during the event.

2024

Every year the secondary schools have less funding to provide extracurricular opportunities for their students. We are pleased that teachers from 34 schools chose to bring 138 students to the Ferris State campus to compete among their peers in our event. The teachers were also treated to a professional technical seminar geared towards: “James F. Lincoln Arc Welding Foundation—History, Now, and Looking Ahead” presented by Scott Strawn of The James F. Lincoln Arc Welding Foundation. All competitors and instructors departed Ferris very happy with a portion of more than $70,000.00 in donated awards, prizes, and welding products, thanks to the generosity of our sponsors.

The teachers were also treated to a professional technical seminar geared towards: “What’s Your Welding Challenge?” presented by Cinnamon Digan, Brett Smith and Justin Smith of Fronius USA. All competitors and instructors departed Ferris very happy with a portion of more than $88,000.00 in donated awards, prizes, and welding products, thanks to the generosity of our sponsors.
