Brophy/McNerney was built in 1962 and was named after Byron J. Brophy and Mary J. McNerney. Byron Brophy served as president from 1946-1952. He implemented the transfer of the school from private institution to a public one. During his tenure, two-thirds of the campus was destroyed in a fire and enrollments increased because of veterans programs. Mary J. McNerney was a faculty member for both German and Latin, coached women’s basketball, and served as the first Dean of Women.

Desk Service Assistants: Student employees that work the 24/7 front desk.
Resident Advisors: Brophy/McNerney has 6 RAs, one on each of its floors. RAs are student employees that are community leaders and meant to aid students living on campus. Each RA has designated residents assigned to them, primarily based on floor location.
Senior Staff Advisor: The senior staff advisor is a student staff member that manages operations of the front desk and various RA tasks.
Hall Director: The Hall Director is the professional staff member in charge of day-to-day supervision and overall management of the staff and building.
A mix of single style and three per suite style rooms with shared bathroom
Each suite has their own bathroom
Single Rooms are furnished with:
1 (76") Bed, 1 Desk, 1 Desk Chair, 1 Dresser, and 1 or 2 Wardrobes
Double Rooms are furnished with:
2 (76") Beds/ Bunk Bed, 2 Desks, 2 Desk Chairs, 2 Dressers, and 2 Wardrobes
