Individual Counseling
Individual counseling services are 45 to 50 minutes in length. During the initial
meeting, the counselor will assess your needs and identify treatment goals with your
input. The exact direction of your counseling services will depend on the issues
you bring into counseling, your counselor's perspective, and the goals you set for
your work together.
Couples and Family Counseling
Couples counseling is available for romantic partnerships in which at least one partner
is a registered student at Ferris State University.
Psycho-educational and treatment groups are offered and facilitated by the Personal
Counseling Center staff. Group topics and scheduling of groups varies by semester
in order to meet the requests, needs, and availability of students.
Crisis Intervention
If there is concern about immediate or imminent violence by the student to self or
others, call 911.
For a counseling emergency or urgent situations that occurs during regular office
hours (8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.), contact the Personal Counseling Center. Walk-ins are
accepted when it is determined that a student is unable to wait until the next available
appointment.
