Easing the Transition
Orientation is the event held on campus that allows new students to finalize their
educational plans for the
academic year, including registering for classes.
While it is not a requirement that parents attend this event with their student, it is strongly recommended to help ease the transition for the student and the family members. A lot of important information is covered, and it is usually very helpful for the student to have the support of parents or other family members at this event.
Orientation is a full day of scheduled activities. For your personal comfort, we recommend that guests wear comfortable, layered clothing and walking shoes. If the forecast calls for rain, umbrellas are recommended.
We recommend parents access our Parent Portal to learn more about attending Ferris. Create an account and progress through each module at your own pace. To sign your student up for orientation and view the agenda, click here.
