Speech Communication Teaching Minor

 Minor

 Locations:

The Speech Communication Secondary Education Minor prepares students to teach Speech and Theatre at the high school level. Through coursework such as COMM 251 and THTR 255, students develop the skills needed to teach public speaking, performance, and communication effectively in secondary education settings.

This minor emphasizes oral communication, presentation techniques, and stage performance, along with the pedagogical strategies required to engage students in both academic and creative learning. When paired with a secondary education major, this minor qualifies students to teach in multiple content areas—broadening their teaching versatility and career opportunities.
