 Bachelor's Degree

 Locations:

The Bachelors of Science in Special Education program provides future professional educators with the development necessary to serve students as a special education teacher with a balanced blend of theory and practice. The Special Education concentration prepares students to be certified in either Learning Disabilities, Cognitive Impairments, Emotional Impairments, and/or Autism Spectrum Disorders.  Students receive foundational education in core professional and developmental practices in addition to focused course work in Special Education pedagogy.  Throughout this degree robust field experiences support and reinforce course content.  Additionally, students participate in internship field experiences that span the K-12+ grade levels to ensure students are prepared to serve in various levels and settings of education. The professional education courses include field-based experiences supervised by instructional teams comprised of teacher educators, professors from the content area disciplines, and expert K-12 teachers. Our class sizes of 20-25 students guarantee that all students receive the attention they deserve.
