Locations:
The Spanish Teaching Minor prepares students to teach Spanish effectively at the secondary education level while fostering a deep understanding of Hispanic language and culture. Through coursework in advanced Spanish language, linguistics, pedagogy, and culture, students develop strong communication skills and practical teaching strategies designed for diverse classroom settings.
Students in this minor gain experience in lesson planning, language assessment, and classroom management tailored to world language instruction. Emphasis is placed on intercultural competence and the ability to connect language learning to real-world applications, preparing graduates to inspire and engage future generations of Spanish learners.
The Spanish Teaching Minor complements a Secondary Education major and provides the qualifications necessary to teach Spanish in middle and high schools. Graduates are well-positioned for careers in education, curriculum development, and bilingual or multicultural education programs.
