Minor
Locations:
The History Secondary Education Minor prepares students to teach history at the high school level by building a strong foundation in historical knowledge, critical analysis, and effective instructional methods. Courses such as HIST 121 and HIST 300, along with additional coursework in the minor, help students deepen their understanding of historical themes, narratives, and inquiry-based teaching strategies.
When paired with a Secondary Education major (other than History or Social Studies), this minor expands a student’s teaching qualifications, allowing them to teach in more than one content area and increasing their professional versatility in the secondary education field.
