Minor
Locations:
The Chemistry Secondary Education minor prepares students to teach high school chemistry by building a strong foundation in chemical principles, laboratory methods, and instructional strategies. Through courses such as CHEM 121 and CHEM 321, along with additional upper-level coursework, students develop both scientific understanding and the practical skills needed to create effective and engaging learning experiences in the chemistry classroom.
When paired with a secondary education major in another subject area, this minor qualifies students to teach chemistry in addition to their primary teaching field. Graduates will be well-prepared to support student learning, meet curriculum standards, and foster curiosity and confidence in the sciences.
