Minor
Locations:
The Biology Secondary Education minor prepares students to teach high school biology by building a strong foundation in core biological concepts, scientific inquiry, and effective instructional practice. Through coursework such as BIOL 121, BIOL 340, and related lab-based and theory courses, students develop both content knowledge and the ability to design engaging learning experiences for secondary-level classrooms.
This minor is intended for students pursuing a Secondary Education major in a different content area. By adding Biology as an additional teachable subject, graduates expand their qualifications and increase their versatility and employability in school settings. Upon completion, students will be eligible to teach Biology at the high school level, supporting schools’ needs for well-prepared science educators.
