Biographical/Historical Note

In 2003, the History Task Force decided to engage in an oral history project to capture the memories and stories of emeriti staff and Ferris alumni. Ferris State University history professor Gary Huey agreed to head the project. History students as part of their classwork were required to research an individual and record an oral history interview with them. The interviews were taped by students from the Television and Digital Media production program.

The project went on break in 2005, in part because of a lack of students to record the interviews. The project began again in 2007 with a new task force member, Geri Johnson, organizing the interviews. These interviews or round table discussions were recorded by University Advancement staff.

Scope and Contents Note

The oral history project was a sponsored project by the History Task Force as a way to record the memories of retired employees and supporters. Oral histories were created on a master tape and then converted to a digital format on a cd. Oral histories were later transcribed by library staffs.

The paper copy of the transcript and the recording are available with the transcript.

This collection is contained in a single series.
