The Enrollment Growth Task Force was a group formed in October 2004 by President David Eisler to propose strategic long term and immediate initiatives designed at boosting enrollment and attracting a more diverse set of students.
The Task Force had twelve members from the faculty and staff of Ferris State University including: Dan Burcham (co-chair), Greg Key (co-chair), Maude Bigford, Sandy Britton, Matt Chaney, Dave Engels, Jana Hurley, Rick Kowalski, Nancy Peterson-Klein, Bill Smith, Deb Thalner and Craig Westman.
The Task Force group met eleven times throughout November and December of 2004. They discussed ideas aimed at both increasing the size and quality of students at Ferris. Issues discussed included: diversity, marketing, curriculum, cost cutting, and expansion. In the end seventeen major recommendations were decided as being the best recommendations of the Task Force.
The Task Force presented its proposals and recommendations on December 17, 2004 to the Presidents Council. The task forces' recommendations were accepted by the President's Council with key recommendations on diversity and marketing being implemented. The Task Force ceased meeting after their presentation of December 17 2004 to the President.
The Enrollment Growth Task Force was assembled in October 2004 and presented its findings in December of the same year. This collection gives insight into not only what was adapted and enacted by Ferris State University in regards to admissions, program offerings and recruitment after that date, but also recommendations on what the staff felt could and should be done to aid in the continuing academic excellence of Ferris State University.
The collection contains meeting minutes, agendas, and handouts, communication between Task Force members, and handwritten notes of the Task Force Secretary either separately or as part of meeting materials (minutes, agendas etc.). Not all suggestions were incorporated into the final recommendations. This collection also contains the paper copy of the final power point presentation, and successive drafts including final copies of both the written recommendation and presentation.
This collection is in a single series.
