The Ferris State University Grand Rapids Council held its fourth annual Growing Opportunity celebration Tuesday, May 11 at the Fulton Street Farmers Market, located in Grand Rapids. Over 140 people gathered at the outdoor venue, where they were able to connect with other Grand Rapids-based Ferris alumni and friends.
During the tailgate-themed event, speakers Grand Rapids Council Member Brad Laackman and FSU President David Eisler highlighted the accomplishments and impact of the Grand Rapids Council, as well as the resilience of Ferris students and community as they lived through the events of the past year. Attendees were also able to participate in outdoor yard games, and enjoyed dinner from Kangaroo Kitchen and Catering. Proceeds from the event will go to support the West Michigan Opportunity Scholarship, established by the Grand Rapids Council.
