Student Organizations - College of Business

Get Involved

Ferris State University has over 450 registered student organizations (RSOs), both social and professional A social student organization includes organizations like Habitat for Humanity, Red Cross, Crafters Anonymous, Women in Technology, sororities, and fraternities. Professional student organizations usually relate to a student’s major; they include organizations like American Marketing Association or the Association of Information Technology Professionals.

Being a member of a professional student organization is an integral part of a student’s preparation for the work force. Membership benefits include opportunities to get leadership experience, do volunteer work, and connect with individuals working in a chosen field of study. Student organizations take field trips, have guest speakers, and help students learn to apply the knowledge learned in the classroom to their potential careers.

Accounting Association

The purpose of this association shall be to encourage and recognize high achievement by students enrolled in Accountancy and to provide a means for students enrolled in Accountancy to broaden their knowledge and understanding of the accounting profession and business by holding discussions on current accounting problems and practices and job opportunities.


The Adgroup is a RSO open to all majors that focuses on the advertising industry. It is the FSU chapter of the national American Advertising Federation (AAF). Members have access to exclusive speakers, resume and interview advice, and trips to Chicago and other major cities to tour advertising agencies. We hold regular fundraisers, social events to get to know the members, and other networking events including involvement with other RSOs on campus. The AdGroup annually anticipates in the National Student Advertising Competition.


AIESEC is the largest student-run organization in the world. It is present in over 2,600 universities in 120 countries that have produced over 1,000,000 alumni. AIESEC offers young people the opportunity to be global citizens, change the world, and gain experience and skills that matter.

AIGA Student Group

We are a highly motivated group of student designers looking to explore all the design world has to offer. Through activities and events we connect with professionals in the field and gain new skills as designers.

American Marketing Association

The Ferris State American Marketing Association is an award-winning student organization that extends learning beyond the classroom by giving hands-on experience to AMA members and marketing students. Come join AMA and be ready for the world.

American Production and Inventory Control Society

APICS (The Association for Operations Management) is a global source of knowledge and operations management, including inventory, materials management, purchasing and logistics.

Association of Information Technology Professionals

AITP bridges the gap between the classroom and the professional business world. Our organization focuses on networking opportunities and equipping our members with the tools necessary to find a job after graduation.

Club Managers Association of America

CMAA provides members with the opportunity to interact with club managers and other club professionals through events and workshops integrating in class education with real world experiences.

College of Business Student Delegates

A Student Delegates plays a vital role with the College of Business. The principal responsibilities of the Student Delegate are to serve as a host to prospective students and families. You will serve as an excellent resource and student perspective for potential students who may or may not be struggling with where they want to attend college. The Student Delegate will be instrumental in helping them learn about the University and to make a better-informed decision. This program will be a useful recruitment tool to expose students to Ferris State University

Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization

Our mission is to inform, support, and inspire FSU students to be entrepreneurial and seek opportunity through enterprise creation.

Delta Sigma Pi

Delta Sigma Pi is a professional fraternity organized to foster the study of business in university; to encourage scholarship, social activity and the association of students for their mutual advancement by research and practice; to promote closer affiliation between the commercial world and students of commerce, and to further a higher standard of commercial ethics and culture and the civic and commercial welfare of the community. Individuals interested in joining must go through the recruitment process and then successfully complete our National Pledge Education Program. Economics Club

This group is interested in Economics, Praxeology, and Economic Political Policy. We largely study the “Austrian School.” We also provide opportunities for internships and seminars across the country.

Financial Management Association

The Financial Management Association seeks to increase its membership and provide the best opportunities for its members to network and learn about the field of finance. These objectives are accomplished three ways: trips, guest speakers, and extracurricular projects. Also, we plan fundraisers, community service programs, and leadership programs to raise awareness about the Financial Management Association here at Ferris with its community.

Graphic Arts Association

The Graphic Arts Association (GAA) strives to provide an effective link between the students, the graphic media related program at Ferris State University, and the graphic media industry, including the areas of: Printing, Graphic Design, Advertising, and Marketing. This Association is a student leadership organization for all students at Ferris State University who are interested in the Graphic Arts and Media Industry.

Information Security and Intelligence Alliance

The purpose of the ISIA is to provide professional development and networking opportunities for student members through distinguished speaker series, conferences, and other special events. The ISIA serves as a centralized resource for students interested in information security and intelligence operations as it pertains to business, information technology, health, criminal justice, and other related fields. The ISIA also strives to provide awareness of ISI in the Ferris campus communities.

Legal Studies Association

The Legal Studies Association is dedicated to helping students interested in any profession in the legal sector. We also work closely with the Pre-Law Fraternity for those interested in attending law school. We do things such as: Law School Visits Attend Paralegal Conferences LSAT Prep Study Groups Help Preparing Personal Statements Tutoring Study Sessions.

Music Industry Management

Providing members with opportunities for leadership development, and for personal and professional growth in the Music Industry through networking and participation in MIMA’s programs & activities. A hands on lab environment that especially compliments MIM student’s classroom curriculum.

National Association of Catering Executives

NACE is a great way to meet and network with catering and event professionals. We are based out of the Detroit regional group. Our mission is to provide catering and event professionals superior education, networking, and  resources to enhance career success and deliver excellence to clients!

Professional Convention Management Association

PCMA is an RSO that provides networking opportunities, industry experience, and professional development for its members. The FSU Chapter of the Professional Convention Management Association strives to promote learning and growth to students who are interested in the event, meeting, or convention planning aspects of the business world. Its mission statement is to deliver superior and innovative education and promote the value of professional convention management.

Professional Golf Management Student Association

The PGMSA is a nonprofit student organization of Professional Golf Management majors. Some of the objectives of the organization are to develop comradery among PGM students, to provide students with an organized, professional atmosphere, and to increase social and professional interaction.

The PTM Student Association

The PTM Student Association is organized to further tennis through education and to promote the academic achievement, tennis skills, and social welfare of its members.

Public Relations Student Society of America

The Ferris State University chapter of PRSSA has direct affiliation with the nation’s largest network of PR practitioners, the Public Relations Society of America. Objectives of the Ferris State chapter include the enhancement and understanding of current theories and techniques in public relations and the establishment of personal contacts through working with PR professionals. Current chapter activities include, but are not limited to, seminars, visits by public relations professionals; participating in our student-led PR firm; personal and professional development; and annually attending the PRSSA National Conference.

The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) is the leading voice of the human resource profession. SHRM provides education and information services, conferences and seminars, government and media representation, online services, and publications to more than 120,000 professional and student members throughout the world.
