Student Organizations - College of Business

Get Involved

Ferris State University has over 220 registered studenllt organizations (RSOs), both social and professional A social student organization includes organizations like Habitat for Humanity, Red Cross, Crafters Anonymous, Women in Technology, sororities, and fraternities. Professional student organizations usually relate to a student’s major; they include organizations like American Marketing Association or the Association of Information Technology Professionals.

Being a member of a professional student organization is an integral part of a student’s preparation for the work force. Membership benefits include opportunities to get leadership experience, do volunteer work, and connect with individuals working in a chosen field of study. Student organizations take field trips, have guest speakers, and help students learn to apply the knowledge learned in the classroom to their potential careers.

Accounting Association

The purpose of this association shall be to encourage and recognize high achievement by students enrolled in Accountancy and to provide a means for students enrolled in Accountancy to broaden their knowledge and understanding of the accounting profession and business by holding discussions on current accounting problems and practices and job opportunities.

AIGA Student Group

We are a highly motivated group of student designers looking to explore all the design world has to offer. Through activities and events we connect with professionals in the field and gain new skills as designers.

American Marketing Association

The Ferris State American Marketing Association is an award-winning student organization that extends learning beyond the classroom by giving hands-on experience to AMA members and marketing students. Come join AMA and be ready for the world.

Bulldog Computer Professionals

Bulldog Computer Professionals bridges the gap between the classroom and the professional business world. Our organization focuses on networking opportunities and equipping our members with the tools necessary to find a job after graduation. We meet every Thursday at 11:00AM.

Business Professionals of America 

Providing members with opportunities for growth through education, competition, and community service.  As a member, we empower you to discover your passion in business and change the world by creating unmatched opportunities you can't find anywhere else!  BPA gives you the competitive edge needed to succeed beyond the classroom in your chosen career. 

Collegiate Sales Society

A student group for those interested in pursuing a career in professional sales. We’re dedicated to helping students learn about the sales profession, become trained in sales techniques, network with industry sales leaders, and earn sales internships and full-time jobs.

Criminal Justice Honors Society – Alpha Phi Sigma

Alpha Phi Sigma is the only Criminal Justice National Honors Society at Ferris State University. The goals of Alpha Phi Sigma are to honor and promote academic excellence, community service, educational leadership, and unity. Criminal Justice – Lambda Alpha Epsilon

Our objectives are to:* Improve criminal justice through educational activities.* Foster professionalism in law enforcement personnel and agencies.* Promote professional, academic, and public awareness of criminal justice issues.* Encourage the establishment and expansion of higher education and professional training in criminal justice.* Provide a unified voice for professionals in, and students of, criminal justice.* Promote ethics, intellectual achievement, and leadership among undergraduate students.  If you are interested in joining, please reach out to Dr. Steve Hundersmarck, [email protected] or Dr. David White, [email protected].

Data Analytics Association 

The DAA was created to broaden Ferris students’ awareness and strengthen their understanding about the rapidly growing data analytics field, provide learning opportunities and skill development within data mining, and bring students with similar interests together in a social setting.

Gamma lota Sigma Upsilon (Risk Management & Insurance)

The purpose of this organization is to promote, encourage, and sustain student interest in insurance, risk management, and actuarial science as professions; to encourage the high moral and scholastic attainments of its members; and to facilitate interaction of educational institutions and industry through networking and by fostering research activities, scholarship, and improved public relations.

Economics Club

This group is interested in Economics, Praxeology, and Economic Political Policy. We largely study the “Austrian School.” We also provide opportunities for internships and seminars across the country.

Graphic Arts Association

The Graphic Arts Association (GAA) strives to provide an effective link between the students, the graphic media related program at Ferris State University, and the graphic media industry, including the areas of: Printing, Graphic Design, Advertising, and Marketing. This Association is a student leadership organization for all students at Ferris State University who are interested in the Graphic Arts and Media Industry.

Hospitality Management Student Association

HMSA is the premier hospitality organization on campus and we want to welcome all those that aspire a career in the Hospitality Industry. It is the umbrella organization for our sub-organization, the Professional Convention Management Association. If a person wants to set themselves apart when applying for jobs after college, this is a good way to do so.

Information Security and Intelligence Alliance

The purpose of the ISIA is to provide professional development and networking opportunities for student members through distinguished speaker series, conferences, and other special events. The ISIA serves as a centralized resource for students interested in information security and intelligence operations as it pertains to business, information technology, health, criminal justice, and other related fields. The ISIA also strives to provide awareness of ISI in the Ferris campus communities.

Media Communications Association

The MCA organizational goal is to provide extracurricular opportunities for career exploration and professional development in the field of Television Production, Digital Media Production, Digital Animation, Game Design, Digital Media Software Engineering and other media fields. While MCA is the recognized Registered Student Organization (RSO) of the School of Digital Media, all Ferris State University students are welcome to join this RSO.

Music and Entertainment Business Association

Providing members with opportunities for leadership development, and for personal and professional growth in the Music Industry through networking and participation in MEBA’s programs & activities. A hands on lab environment that especially compliments MEBA student’s classroom curriculum.

Phi Alpha Delta (pre-law - Professional Fraternity)

Phi Alpha Delta's Pre-Law Program assists undergraduate students in making an informed decision about pursuing a legal career, deciding which law school to attend, and preparing for law school. It enables members to make those decisions, including LSAT prep, educational programming, workshops, attorney panels, law school tours, and alum networking.

Professional Golf Management Student Association - PGMSA

The PGMSA is a nonprofit student organization of Professional Golf Management majors. Some of the organization's objectives are to develop comradery among PGM students, provide students with an organized, professional atmosphere, and increase social and professional interaction.

Professional Tennis Management Student Association

The PTM Student Association is organized to further tennis through education and to promote the academic achievement, tennis skills, and social welfare of its members.

Public Relations Student Society of America

The Ferris State University chapter of PRSSA has direct affiliation with the nation’s largest network of PR practitioners, the Public Relations Society of America. Objectives of the Ferris State chapter include the enhancement and understanding of current theories and techniques in public relations and the establishment of personal contacts through working with PR professionals. Current chapter activities include, but are not limited to, seminars, visits by public relations professionals; participating in our student-led PR firm; personal and professional development; and annually attending the PRSSA National Conference.

Women in CyberSecurity 

As members of  Women in Cybersecurity, we are committed to provide a channel for communication and diversity within the community whether it be between males and/or females. We would like to promote support for women in the workplace when it comes to cyber security and IT fields.
