About Army ROTC
Ferris ROTC is leadership-focused and designed to train the future Army officers. We strive to be Scholars-Athletes-Leaders, finding the balance between academic achievement, excelling in physical fitness, and engaging in the community through selfless service and seeking out leadership roles. We encourage our cadets to partake in RSOs, have a variety of different majors, and offer additional opportunities within the program such as Color Guard, the Ranger Challenge Club, and volunteer opportunities. We will constantly be challenging you to grow as an individual, as a part of a team, and as a leader.
How can ROTC help you?
- $420 monthly stipend
- $1,200 annual book stipend
- 100% tuition paid OR $10,000 room and board scholarship
- $500 to $10,000 additional scholarships
- $50,000 starting salary as a newly commissioned second lieutenant on active duty
Cadet Clubs
Cadet Clubs are a great way to get involved and network within the Big Rapids and surrounding areas. All clubs are cadet driven, focused, and executed by students within the program. These clubs focus on expert marksmanship training with the M4 rifle system, firing the pack 75 Howitzer at all home Ferris football games, and demonstrating their discipline through drill and ceremony.
Participation by cadets is voluntary but also earns cadet’s extra points when submitted for their ranking on the National Order of Merit List.
