OSM Alumni Spotlight: Kristina Rousseau - B.S. Business Administration, Lean Systems Certificate & Leadership and Supervision Certificate, 2022
Kristina Rousseau graduated in Spring 2022 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration and dual certificates in Lean Systems and Leadership and Supervision.
Kristina currently works as an Associate Director at Project Starburst food pantry. She shares “in my position, I train and schedule volunteers, forecast and assist with monthly food orders, process and analyze monthly client data, manage social media accounts, refer clients to other agencies, help with the day-to-day pantry activities.”
Regarding her experiences at Ferris, she writes, “The lean experiential projects I did at FSU taught me lean tools can be applied to more than manufacturing. Right now, I’m working on standardized work for training volunteers and implementing 5S for organizing the pantry stockroom. 5 why root cause analysis has been helpful while we try resolving supply chain issues related to our diaper bank program.”
Kristina’s advice to current/future students is “Don’t be afraid to ask questions; they help you learn! Learn the material now so you can use it in your future career. Always be a student! Be willing to learn even after you graduate. Adding on to that, be kind to everyone. Sometimes, the best people you can learn from don’t have a degree.”
