It takes more than musicians to put on a concert, produce and distribute a great recording, or get a new guitar into the hands of a player. It takes many people doing the business of music. In our Music and Entertainment Business program, you will learn to be one of those people.
At Ferris, you will develop a deep understanding of the multi-faceted music and entertainment industry, of which music creation, distribution, and consumption are only one part of. You will expand your knowledge and skills into concerts, festivals, branding, fashion and merchandising through top internships in places like Los Angeles, Nashville and New York. As a member of the Music and Entertainment Business Association, you will help produce live shows and other entertainment events on campus by booking artists and venues and managing promotion, sponsorship, hospitality, stage set-up and more.
The music and entertainment industry is one of largest and most diverse industries in the world. With your degree from Ferris, you will ready to establish yourself as a leader in the field.
The Music and Entertainment Business Association (MEBA) is an on-campus organization at Ferris State University. As a registered student organization it provides participants with many career development opportunities. Our students are actively involved in exciting music and entertainment experiences that focus on the consumer. They are able to participate in the annual Music Biz Conference (Nashville, Tennessee), NAMM Shows (Anaheim, California and Nashville, Tennessee), and site visits to local and regional organizations.
