The Associate in Applied Science in Computer Information Systems (AAS CIS) degree, offered through the College of Business at Ferris State, prepares students to support computing systems by providing programming, systems analysis, database management and other related skills. Entry-level positions include jobs such as programmer/analyst, database developer or administrator, systems analyst, application developer, and other related positions in the field. After completing the AAS CIS degree, students may transfer their courses into the bachelor’s degree in CIS, giving them a streamlined pathway to further their studies. The CIS program has close relationships with industry through a program advisory board and students have opportunities to complete an internship as a practical hands-on experience, giving them a real-world look at their professional field.
