Sam Fattore, Admissions & Records, for his 'voluntary' web development recently performed for the nonprofit organization, Michigan Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (MACRAO). Sam has completed a web page project for the MACRAO New Professionals Workshop committee; thus allowing 'on-line' registration, payment verification, and automated correspondence to prospective workshop attendees with regards to an upcoming training event. These capabilities save countless committee man-hours and enhance customer satisfaction with the registration process. I would like to ensure the Ferris community is aware of Sam's professional contribution and support towards our collective efforts to place FSU as a leader within the collegian community.
Donna Cook, The Pug, Rankin Student Center. I've seen her on quite a few occasions approaching people in the Pug with the friendliest smile to welcome them to the Pug and ask if they had been there before--she can sure pick out the newcomers! I'm sure the majority of these are parents and students here for Orientation and she patiently explains what the Pug has and how the ordering system goes. She is just so cheerful and pleasant--she just makes Ferris shine!
Jacob Hewitt/Holt Assistant, Office of International Affairs. He is one of the most reliable persons I have ever employed. We can always count on him to take on new projects and complete them in a timely manner. He works well independently as well as with the team in our office. Jacob interacts with students from all over the world. He answers questions regarding community and campus operations (i.e. banking, class registration, etc.). The students find him personable and enjoy his participation in activities and appreciate his patient assistance as they adapt to FSU and Big Rapids. He has taken on a leadership role during new international student orientation, which is held at the beginning of each semester. He provides useful insights into improving the administration of orientation. He demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills with a variety of cultures and ages. He is a tremendous resource in the Office of International Affairs.
David Robison(Custodial), for all the extra things you do for us and making the College of Pharmacy shine. For all the little things that you might think go unnoticed or unappreciated - we do appreciate and we do notice! For your exceptional sense of humor that will bring a smile to anyone's face. We thank you Dave - for everything!
Amy (Wencl) Nawrot, Student Employee, Timme Center for Student Services. She has constantly shown that she can be relied on to carry out any task needed to get the job done. Amy works directly with a number of staff as well as the students and parents that come to the counter or call the Timme Student Services area. She takes initiative to do what needs to be done without being asked and always goes the extra mile to make sure that she is helping to meet the needs of everyone she comes in contact with. Amy also does all of this with a positive and cheerful attitude and a smiling face. GOOD JOB AMY!!!!
Jason Cook, Student Employee, College of Technology. Jason took on the task of reorganizing the Mechanical Engineering Technology storage areas this summer as a part time employee. He functioned very well with little supervision. The results of his efforts have made equipment, supplies, and tools easier to find. More expensive equipment can now be stored in a secure area. He has freed up space in the storage rooms as well. Super job!
