MHA Admission Requirements

Application Process and Admission Requirements

Application Deadlines

Prospective students may apply to the MHA program to start in the Fall semester (classes begin late August) or Spring semester (classes begin early January). All elements of the application must be submitted via the online application process by the following dates each year.

Fall Semester Deadline: Jun. 1

Spring Semester Deadline: Nov. 1

New Student Admission Requirements

  • Completed application for admission.
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a 3.00 or higher GPA (on a 4.00 scale). 
  • Submit official transcripts from all institutions of higher education previously attended. Ferris graduates need not submit transcripts for coursework completed at Ferris.
  • Submit a current, professional resume or curriculum vitae.
  • Submit a personal statement of your interest in healthcare administration. 
  • Request three (3) professional references from individuals familiar with academic or professional backgrounds and can provide an assessment of the applicant’s current work quality and ability to complete graduate education successfully. 
  • Have successful completion of a college-level mathematics course equivalent to MATH 115 or higher, with a grade of C or higher. 
  • Have successful completion of a basic statistics course, equivalent to COHP 350 and COHP 450, with a grade of C or higher. 
  • Should have coursework that includes college-level social and natural science courses, such as Biology, Chemistry, and Social Science electives and have grades of C or higher. 
  • International students whose first (native) language is not English need to have English proficiency test scores sent directly from the testing agency to demonstrate meeting the Ferris standards for English proficiency (e.g., TOEFL, IELTS, and Duolingo).
  • Application Deadline: June 1 for Fall Semester and November 1 for Spring Semester
    Applicants may need to complete an interview with program faculty in instances where the program has reached enrollment capacity.
  • Provisional admission may be granted if an applicant does not meet all the admission requirements. If provisional admission is granted, the applicant must successfully complete the first nine (9) credit hours of graduate-level coursework with a 3.00 GPA (on a 4.00 scale) and correct all deficiencies in their admission requirements within the first nine (9) credits of the program.

These requirements also apply to Transfer Students.
