The Small Business and Entrepreneurship Minor provides practical, hands-on preparation for students interested in launching their own ventures or managing small businesses within their chosen field. This six-course program walks students through every stage of the entrepreneurial process—from evaluating the feasibility of a business idea to developing a complete business plan and understanding key legal and regulatory considerations.

Students gain essential skills in marketing, financial management, risk assessment, and business operations. The curriculum also covers small business accounting principles, raising capital, preparing pro forma financial statements, and designing exit strategies. Emphasis is placed on integrating managerial metrics to support data-driven decision-making.

Courses are taught by faculty with real-world entrepreneurial experience, and students engage in simulations and applied projects that mirror actual small business challenges. This minor is an excellent complement to any major, equipping students with the knowledge and confidence to innovate, lead, and grow successful enterprises.
