Biography

Dr. Richard Niedziolek is a distinguished executive and educator with more than three decades of global leadership in automotive finance, credit risk, and enterprise strategy. As Global Chief Commercial Risk Officer at GM Financial, he oversaw credit operations spanning 30+ countries and chaired the Global Automotive Credit Committee, where he designed and implemented risk frameworks that advanced sustainable growth, strengthened governance, and ensured regulatory excellence worldwide.

Before joining Ferris State University, Dr. Niedziolek served as Assistant Professor of Finance and Economics at The University of Olivet, where he was recognized for his ability to bridge industry expertise with transformative, student-centered learning.

He earned his Ph.D. from Capella University, a Master’s degree from Boston University, and dual bachelor’s degrees from Albion College. His academic interests focus on global finance, risk governance, and cultivating the next generation of principled, career-ready business leaders.
