Biography

Dr. Browers worked in business management for over 20 years before she came to teach at Ferris State University. That included employment at public, private, and non-profit organizations. In one non-profit experience Dr. Browers was fortunate to be part of a team of professionals contracted to perform auditing oversight for the federal Head Start agency. The team specialized in tribal Head Start programs throughout the United States.

During her years working in management, Dr. Browers also owned and operated three businesses. Her current business adventure, a farm, is owned and operated with her husband out of Rodney Michigan. Stoney Grove Farm has been in business for 19 years, and raises grass fed cattle and other products using organic practices. During the past five years Stoney Grove Farm has grown substantially as consumers demonstrate an increased interest in natural and organic food. Dr. Browers believes that it is extremely important to have hands-on business experience in order to be relevant in a business classroom.

Dr. Browers has been a professor in the College of Business at Ferris State University since 2007. She has taught courses in financial and managerial accounting, financial management, ethics and fraud, management and associated metrics, small business systems, and entrepreneurship. She has also been a guest lecturer at Dankook University in South Korea teaching organizational culture and corporate ethics.

Dr. Browers believes in helping students to embrace:
*The value of learning
*The value of self-worth and quality performance
*The value of experiencing productive and responsible participation in society
