Value Colleges, an independent online guide that offers straightforward and practical resources to students, has included Ferris State University in its rankings. Ferris’s Computer Information Technology (CIT) program has been ranked 18th out of 25 “Best Campus IT Programs” for 2020.

Dr. John Njenga Kinuthia, an assistant professor and coordinator for the CIT program, believes the ranking shows that the CIT program prepares students to make real differences in their future careers as IT professionals. Dr. Kinuthia states that, “Through our program, students gain technical, business, and soft skills that are needed for them to succeed in the workplace and add value to employers.”

“Students should feel validated that they made the right decision by choosing the CIT program at Ferris State University, where they are getting value for their money.” Dr. Kinuthia said. “Our classes are taught by highly dedicated and qualified faculty who are committed to the success of their students. We offer courses and industry certificates that employers look for and regularly update our curriculum to align with their needs and the changing technology environment.”

Dr. Kinuthia adds that prospective students should consider Ferris’s CIT program.

“The program is always evolving to meet changing technology and employee needs so students should feel confident that they will gain skills that employers want. The CIT program also has a registered student organization (RSO). The RSO offers students an opportunity to socialize, share knowledge, and engage with speakers from the IT industry. “

Ferris Statewide also offers CIT instruction in Traverse City, Grand Rapids, and Dowagiac.
