Biography

Dr. Scholten has been teaching communication for over 20 years. She also coached many speech and debate champions throughout the years. In addition to winning a few student-chosen awards for her teaching and advising, she has also won awards on the professional development stage. Most recently, she was awarded a Top Paper designation at the Central States Communication Association for her work in using game-based learning in the classroom. Dr. Scholten loves incorporating game based elements to accomplish learning objectives in class but also has a personal love for table-top gaming, role-playing games, escape rooms and puzzles.
