Biography

Dr. Changqi C. Zhu teaches Current Topics in Biology, Developmental Biology, and General Biology courses. His teaching is to inspire and empower students to explore their learning potentials to achieve the best learning outcomes as they can. In addition to teaching, he finds time actively mentoring a small group of students from the Department of Biological Sciences to do research in his research laboratory yearly. Over the last several years, by collaborating with Prof. Michael B. O'Connor lab, Dr. Zhu and his students have discovered two Activin-type ligands Dawdle and Myoglianin as important anti-aging regulators, and published their research findings in Biology Open in April 2018. Besides teaching and research, he also actively serves on different committees at the department, college, and university levels.
